What is RoHS?

RoHS stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. It is a directive controlled by the European Union that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The RoHS directive came into force on 1st July 2006 and ensures that electrical and electronic products sold in the EU comply with defined legal thresholds for hazardous chemicals.
